- AQUAIMP WIE-2100-2101: This is a water-based line. It is a water-based impregnating agent of exceptional quality, designed for the protection, preservation and decoration of wood, both indoors and outdoors.
- AQUATER WE-6100-6105: Perfect finish for AQUAIMP WIE-2100-2101. It is a waterborne finish developed for the varnishing of outdoor products such as windows, shutters, blinds, balconies, gates, … made of “dimensionally stable” wood.
- AQUATER WE-6106 WAXED: Fabulous line of water-based acrylic varnishes with a special treatment that gives them elasticity and allows the wood to breathe naturally. They come in translucent and pigmented shades. They repel water and dust very well, and their high UV filter content improves outdoor resistance. In addition, they offer excellent wetting of the substrate.
What type of varnish to use in cold climates?
In such climates, the huts must be kept dry, insulated and protected from moisture and frost. It is therefore necessary to comply with the following:
- Moisture and frost resistant
- Look for waterproofing varnishes that create a barrier against rain, snow or ice.
- Flexible to temperature changes
- The varnish must have high elasticity in order not to crack with shrinkage/expansion of the wood in extreme cold.
- Water-based or environmentally friendly (non-toxic)
- As the dog may lick surfaces or spend a lot of time nearby, it must be safe for animal use.
- UV-protected if the shed is outdoors
- Even in cold weather, the sun also damages wood over time. Choose varnishes with a UV filter.
- Finished satin matt, not shiny
- Glossy finishes can slip with moisture or frost. Better a natural one.

What type of varnish to use for outdoor houses in hot climates?

- In sunny climates, UV rays deteriorate wood quickly. The varnish should have a sunscreen to prevent discolouration, cracking or drying out.
- Breathability and thermal regulation
- Instead of creating a plastic layer that locks in the heat, a water-based varnish is ideal, allowing the wood to breathe and not overheat too much.
- Resistance to extreme heat and drying
- Some varnishes crack under heat. Use one formulated for dry or tropical environments.
- Finished matt or satin (not glossy)
- The gloss reflects more heat and can make the surface uncomfortable for animals to touch.
- Non-toxic and odourless
- Make sure it is suitable for use in structures where animals live, especially if they will be in contact with the ground or bite surfaces.
